Michael Prout Artist Biography![]() This is going to be an ongoing bio. It is so hard to write about yourself. Here goes the first draft though... I'm a graphic artist and website developer by trade. My passion has always been illustration though. I've been working in pen and ink for years creating caricatures, architectural renderings, magazine and newspaper ads, and even an occassional artwork or two. As far as painting goes, I was inspired to take up watercolor several years ago by a group of friends ( KoontzLakeArtists.com ) and mentors that I have known for years. One friend is actually still the high school art director. He has been teaching and helping kids draw award winning artwork since I can remember. And another artist friend of mine could be seen on PBS teaching her painting skills using the William Anderson method of painting. Anyway, between the two of them they have kept me inspired and busy painting. My wife and I share a passion for horses... well, her passion for the horses... my passion for painting them. Together we own and operate a growing horse boarding and training stable in beautiful Northern Indiana. I have plenty of resources to work from and keep my camera handy. I like to paint and draw just about anything but horses are especially fun to draw and are full of character and life. |
